Accreditation
Whilst there are no formal processes yet, to accredit departments or individuals in Nuclear Cardiology, the BNMS audit process assesses/advises individual departments.
The Certification Board in
Nuclear Cardiology exam, which can be taken in London (organized by the
CBNC and recognized by European Council in Nuclear Cardiology) is recommended. This is an exit examination in the USA, however trainees in the UK have taken this exam after completing advanced nuclear cardiology training but prior to CCT. The CBNC have agreed to this, but will freeze the diploma until the CCT has been attained.
